10.4 GENERAL STRIKE IN FRANCE

Nothing was going anymore on Tuesday, 10.4, in France – except, according to the trade unions, millions of people on demonstrations across the entire country. For this day in a strong unity all left parties, from the anarchists to the communists, and trade unions were calling for a nation wide 24-hours general strike against privatization, termination of jobs and deterioration of working conditions of the masses of the working class. So nothing was going anymore. No near and far public traffic. Many flights were cancelled. There were no news papers, no baguettes, no city cleaning, all the restaurants were closed... “A unity like that since 30 years it was not happen in France”, so a reporter of the German TV news ARD. And at least 75 per cent of the French population, according to the bourgeois media, supported the strike. By the way THIS is a GENERAL STRIKE!! PS... It is a little difficult for me to write an article here. At first I have to think if I want to use pictures. If I want to do this, I have to go to pc bang and to select and process them. Then I can upload there this stuff. And later at “home” I add the article...

10.3, 15 Years German Reunification

On Nov. 9, 1989, in the early evening we were sitting at home in West-Berlin (W.B.) and watched, like every day, the news in the East TV. One report went to a press conference in East-Berlin, the capital of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), a.k.a. East Germany. There on the end of the conference one leading figure of the ruling Socialist Unity party of Germany (SED) was reading from a small piece of paper that from “right now” all citizens of the GDR are permitted to visit the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG, a.k.a. West Germany), including Berlin (West) without any restrictions. We were sitting there and only wondering, what was happen right now - that must be just a mistake! But later when we went to downtown W.B. we saw the first East cars with East German plates... and we knew: the wall was falling, definitely! Later in the night to the 10th of Nov. We went to a pub were we met a lot of friends and comrades – and everyone was happy. Everyone was sure that Germany, reunificated soon, will enter a new lucky era. A friend of mine and me we were arguing against it, that especially the East, perhaps will enter an era of "Blood, Sweat and Tears". But no one wanted to listen, on one agreed. Only few months late, on Oct. 3, 1990, logical the two German states were reunited. Now, 15 years later - what is the consequence of the German reunification? Thousands of factories, companies were terminated because the became/were not "marketable", or they just became potential rivals for the West companies (according to the official East German statistic the GDR was the 10th "strongest" industrial state in Europe, at least in the East economic Block it was on the first place in the industrial development). In this process hundred thousands of workers lost their jobs in the East. Entire regions just deserted and desolated. In many regions the unemployment rate is now over 20 %. Until now 2,000,000 people migrated from the East to the West to find work and new homes. In some regions you can see today only old and stupid people... and a lot of neo-fascists. In many regions the fascists are ruling the daily public life now. Between Elbe and Oder (the two border rivers in the West and the East of the former GDR) the new brown (“neobraun”, brown is the symbolic color for the fascist movement) grass root revolution is coming slowly, but continuously .”, yesterday the “famous”, but bourgeois German newspaper Der Tagesspiegel wrote. Anyway... What they have now in the East, an area were everyone can do what ever he/she want. They can move to the West to earn a lot of money or just to life normal. They can move even to the US or to Australia, or wherever... A clean country they left... Before, during the time of the GDR there was nearly everywhere an ecological disaster... Now all this regions are complete clean. The most of the inner cities are complete reconstructed and renewed... But no one want to life anymore there... Visitors from the West, who want to see the beautiful nature, the nice reconstructed old cities in the East are fearing because of criminal, fascist gangs who are attacking everyone who comes from outside, no matter if they come from West-Berlin (actually it is not existing anymore, because now we are a part of East Germany...), Hamburg, Beijing or Seoul.. Finally it is just a lost place, deserted by millions of people... The entire operation of the unification, inclusive the results I wrote about, was a process of “Blood, Sweat and Tears” and it is not finished yet.. But on the other side, only because of the falling of the wall we came to the idea to show N. Korean movies in Europe, as a kind of a trash show (before, especially in West-Berlin we were surrounded by trash states and no one was interested in their “culture”), we got the possibility to visit Pyeongyang and later I got the possibility to visit the other side of the iron curtain in Korea, during PIFF 2001 and I had the great experience to meet... (aehhh.. this another story...) I think just because of that I got the possibility to join the struggles in S. Korea... PS... The entire shit, the unification, they, the Germans, got for the price of only 1,500,000,000,000 Euro. And of course mainly the ordinary tax payers were, are paying for it! And they are not finished with paying... Its just an endless, but expensive fun... Aeh... actually its just a fun for the capitalist class...

"Sewoon District Redevelopment" project

Seoul forest

The official provisional final point of CRP will be the Seoul forest. This will be located in a huge triangle between Jungrangcheong and Hangang. Seongsu Dong 1ga and Ddukseom cheyug Park is located there. "After being occupied by major city infrastructure and used as a leisure place excluding the intervention of nature during the period of industrialization, Ddukseom Island is required to provide the function as the forest in a city where nature is harmonized with culture...", so the bootleg of SMG. Actually I dont know this area, but I know the neighborhoods, poor areas where small industries and work shops located. There many of my comrades were/are working there – a place for many migrant workers. But according to the computer simulations in the official SMG bootleg... of course this areas are already disappeared. Of course! Just imagine a main center for relaxation for the rich, surrounded by extremely poor, dirty and noisy areas... Finally if you really seriously follow the plans of LD you will find out that they have the "absolute necessary" plan to destroy all the poor areas North of Hangang sooner or later and in this process they will expulse all the poor residents there. Do I have to repeat that WE MUST STOP THIS PROCESS BY ALL MEANS!!?? I think not!!

Fortress Europe, Germany...

Fortress Europe Six Africans were killed by the attempt to storm the border of the Spanish town of Ceuta in the North African state of Morocco. There and in the near city of Melilla Spain has military bases. In the early Thursday, CET, between 500 and 600 people from different African countries were trying to get in the Spanish areas. Because these are Spanish territories, so this territories are parts of the European Union. According to the Radio network Cadena SER six Africans were killed. Three of them my Spanish military and the others by deathly accidents, so the German daily Berliner Zeitung on Sept. 29. Especially in Morocco thousands of potential African migrants are waiting to get a possibility to get in the European Union. But because of the restrictive migrant policy, especially of the German government, it is getting from year to year more harder and very often deathly for the poor, especial from Africa, to get in the Fortress Europe. German Afghanistan occupation activity increased On Wednesday, Sept. 28, the German parliament decided to extent the occupation activity of the German army, the Bundeswehr. Among them is also the secret KSK, command special forces, active in Afghanistan. The new elected PMs of the Left party protested against the plan outside of the parliament building, the Reichstag in Berlin. But only 17 of the 54 new elected PMs participated on the protest. Of course Lafontaine and Gysi, the new leaders of the parliament fraktion of the Left party were absent too...

9.24 反戰 대회, notes, u.d.v.

Well, now it is four days ago that in Seoul the last anti-war event was celebrated. First of all it was very nice to see this pictures, one comrade sent me much more pics, because many people on this pictures I know from our daily, common struggle. And of course it was a kind of emotional for me to this pictures... But... just thats it!

On the other hand it was very sad for me to see this pics, but it was not surprising...

I joined nearly all the rallies, demonstrations and other events of the very young anti-war movement in S. Korea. And from one of the first anti-war rally, demonstration in autumn 2002 until I was arrested, nearly 2 month ago, I reported and commented it. I still remember very well one of the first anti-war demos in autumn 2002, started in Insa Dong, with about 400 protestors.

Than on the next demo from Yeongdeungpo to Yeouido, just a short time later, the numbers of the participants was increasing to 800 or so activists. Later in the end of 2002 the anti-war movement was uniting with the anti-USFK citizen and netizen movement. At that time I already worried that the anti-war movement, mainly based on few political groups, will try to get a kind of leadership of the entire movement, or at least will try to use it for their own so called political, power games.

In the New Years eve to 2003 we were 150.000 protestors on Gwanghwamun... and when I came back to S.K. on Feb. 2003, there was the first international action day against the at that time planned war against Iraq, only 5.000 activists were left on this rally, demonstration. Perhaps you know by your self, what was happen in the time between the end of 2002 and the beginning of 2003.

Between 2003 and now we had many bloody fights against the bill of sending S.K. troops to Iraq... Just remember the battles in beginning of April 2003 on Yeouido... And now... On 9.24 just 600 people, according to Minjung-ui Sori, were on the street against the war.

What we did wrong...

First of all, as I said before, some political organizations were trying to use the movement just for to strengthen their own position. Because many others understood this well, so a real unified front was not possible.

Next... Especially from spring 2003 the anti-war movement was totally fixed on dates organized originally in the Western world or the USA. But the most strongest fights of resistance we had when we were reacting against the policy of the S. K. government, when we were acting autonomous.

Next... KCTUs resistance was just symbolic, actually they, the new KCTU leadership, were cheating all the activists. And the activists had not the power, or they were afraid, to force the KCTU leadership to act really. And so on... It will be continued soon

PS I saw one picture on Minjung-ui sori, but actually I dont saw there 600 people, perhaps maximum 400. One comrade of mine wrote me from about 1.000 people. Perhaps she should not drink to much of soju during demonstrations... haha...

청계천... #2

But the SDR will be not the final point of redevelopment, or better said deconstruction... not at all. Dongdaemun Stadium, in the present time a refuge for many street vendors who were fighting against their expulsion out off the CGC area... If I am right... But here now the bad surprise... LD is planning to create there the conversion of Dongdaemun Stadium into a park, so the propaganda booklet of the exhibition about CRP in Berlin. But LD imagination how to change the city North of Hangang to a place just for the rich goes much more extensive, if not to say excessive. One of the next giant steps, according to SMG, is the Wangshimni New Town. If we can believe the propaganda brochure of LD the entire present area of Wangshimni will be torn down to get a free space for their crazy, inhuman ideas. Finally I think it will be for the next decade the most destructive plan what SMG had since 40 years. They, I am sure will reconstruct the entire area North of Hangang. We just have to see all this non rich areas between CDC, Eulchi-ro and Toegye-ro, many neighborhoods between Myeong-dong and Namsan area, between Jong-no area and Seongbuk-dong... Finally it will be the most massive attack against the ordinary, poor residents there since ever. If we cant stop them... they never will stop with their policy of displacement of the ordinary, non rich people What we can do... If we are not able to change the present economic and political system, a.k.a. capitalism, today or tomorrow... At least we should RESIST. We need to create a broad propaganda offensive for all the people, who will be effected now and in the near future by this massive attack of the capital. We should struggle at least for the most possible participation of the direct effected residents in the processes of the so called restoration or reconstruction. At least we should recognize that WE have the power, because WE are the majority. IF WE ARE UNITED NO ONE CAN CONTROL, DEFEAT US... There last lines are just unfinished thoughts..., please forgive me... But it will be continued soon... PS.. Just now I found out a more worse bad surprise in this case, but I have to research very carefully... Abbreviations CGC... Cheonggyecheon CM......Construction Mafia CRP... The Cheonggyecheon Project, pt. 1

'RESTORATION' MEANS DESTRUCTION

Since Sept. 22 Seoul Metropolitan Government, SMG, together with the Administration of City Development of the Berlin City Government organized an exhibition about the Cheonggyecheon Restoration Project, CRP. On many photographs and maps you can see how giant destructive this project finally will become, if you know about the background, the effects for the ordinary people, who are working and living there. If you really watch the pictures and the other materials on the exhibition than you just come to the conclusion that the stream project, the CRP, itself is just an extreme measure reconstruct the entire area between Eulchi-ro, Cheonggyecheon, CGC, Jong-no and the Dongdaemun and Dongdaemun Stadium. But if I was interpreting the material well the final point of this giant reconstruction, aeh... better said destruction project will be far away from there. But lets start from the point of beginning. The first step of CRP was to tear down the Cheonggyecheon Expressway in 2003. During this process in Nov. 2003 finally the Lee Myeong-bak dictatorship, LD, a.k.a. SMG, ordered the expulsion of the street vendors in and around Cheongyecheon 8ga. I joined and wrote an article about the 10 hours battle between them and ggangpae, large riot cop units on the end of Nov. 2003, but I think it was just on www.base21.org and somehow it disappeared. If I understood well they, the struggling street vendors, or some of them, got later places in the Dongdaemun Stadium. The bad surprise about it will come later... The next step, during the reconstruction of the bed of Cheonggyecheon was that LD and the Construction Mafia, CM, ordered the expulsion of the entire population of Eulchi-ro 2ga, Samgag, Suha Dong, because of the plan to tear down all the buildings and construct a giant new sky scraper there.

Until now the plan failed because of the strong resistance of the residents there. I joined and reported several times.

After the GRAND OPENING of new CGC on Oct. 1, WE SHOULD USE THIS DATE TO SHOW OUR PROTEST, the next step will be, if I understood the material right, the start of the Sewoon District Redevelopment, SDR. This plan includes the tearing down of the entire area between Eulchri-ro 3ga, Jong-no 3ga, when you go to Dongdaemun on the right side of Jong-no, Jong-no 4ga and Eulchi-ro 4ga. According to LD the entire area will turn into an internationally large scale business space. The importance of this project you can see, when you read the names of the architects who were asked to build there. Machedo+Silvetti, Kohlhaas, P. Eisenmann... And this is a really huge area with thousands of residents, small workshops, stores... It means that the basis of existence of thousands of families will be extreme endangered. Perhaps, I am just reckoning, the entire area is already sold to the CM and the people who are living and working there, just rented their places, like in Samgag, Suha Dong. And sooner or later they will be just kicked out... I think you can see the plan behind CRP... just a giant resettlement against the will of thousands of poor residents. ALL THE POOR OUT OF THE CITY. THE CITY JUST FOR THE RICH. And SDR will be for sure not the final point of redevelopment, destruction... You just have to follow CGC with open eyes and you will see, understand the entire plan behind CRP... All the small, poor houses will disappear in the near future. And with the houses all the people who used to live and work there. IF WE CANT STOP IT. Once again this areas are the basis of existence for thousands of families. It will be continued soon. Abbreviations CGC.. Cheonggyecheon CM..... Construction Mafia CRP.. Cheonggyecheon Restoration Project LD..... Lee Myeong-bak Dictatorship SDR.. Sewoon District Redevelopment

Lets fight together for a world without wars, exploitation and oppression!

Please dont misunderstand me. Its not an attack, actually these are just some thoughts. 1. The Baath party, the S. Hussein regime deprived them the complete freedom, hundred thousands of them, first the communists, who were helping the Baath party to get the power, and then trade unionists, democrats, religious persons, Kurds, and so on. Now the Iraqis have the freedom, if you want to call this like that, but there is no active mass front, movement against the occupation, but also not against the daily islamic fascist terror. Please remember that in the last days more than 250 ordinary Iraqis, irregular workers, women and children, were murdered by the islamic fascist terror! No one really gets up against this! Everyone is just waiting... for a miracle, the so-called victory of the occupation forces, or what ever.... In the South, in the british zone, but also in the middle of Baghdad, daily women, who want to have just the human right to live as a human in equality... were, are killed by this religious fundamentalists. Trade unionists were, are killed every day... and so on.... 2. The Islamic fascist terror against innocent people started long time ago in Afghanistan after the withdrawal of the Soviet Army a daily Islamic terror campaign against the entire population started. No matter if it was, or is in N.Y., Indonesia, Madrid, Tel Aviv or London... mostly the victims are innocent, mainly the ordinary people. For the Islamic fascist terror, some call it in Iraq THE RESISTANCE, everyone who dont believe the same shit like them is a legitimate, lawful aim. And many times representatives of this groups said in the public. Everyone in the world, who was listen, was able to understand this message!!! 3. Please not just for the Blacks in N. Orleans. There are also many poor Latinos, Koreans, and, and... And of course there are also black bourgeois! 4. The S. Korean soldiers are not staying in Iraq, thy are staying in Kurdistan. Kurdistan, since the first Iraq War, is a protected area which had nothing to do anymore with mainland Iraq. It was, is a kind of free area and you can compare it a bit with any other so-called independent countries. Just because of that the S.K. troops got not involved in battles, because there are no battles, no combat operations. 5. But on the other side, when other countries will withdraw their troops from Iraq, perhaps the S.K. troops will be forced to replace them, and than everything is possible... At least because of this, we must fight to get them back home!! But anyway, the best help for the exploited, oppressed people in Iraq and other countries under the direct or indirect occupation of the Imperialism, is to smash the capitalism in our home countries! Even its not our real home country..., THE PROLETARIATE HAS NO FATHERLAND!, K. Marx THE ENEMY STAYS IN THE, our, OWN COUNTRY!, K. Liebknecht. PS 1: Some days ago C. Sheehan was nearly arrested in N.Y.C., but perhaps you already know this... PS 2: Today I was in a exhibition about the Cheonggyechen project, organized by the Lee Myeong-bak dictatorship, a.k.a. Seoul Metropolitan Govt. Beside it was really strange and sad to see pictures of areas where I was walking everyday around or fighting with the cops or ggangpae... But I got some material, what we can use for our fight against the construction mafia and the Lee dictatorship. Of course finally I got in fight with the Korean staff about the project and the bad effects for thousands of the poor who are living there and will lose their basis of existence if the project will be successful, if we are not able to resist... Perhaps tomorrow I will write more about it. PS 3: Today some independent anti-war groups are organizing for 2 pm in front of Seoul yeok. If you dont want to make just party propaganda... join them! ONLY UNITED WE ARE STRONG!!!
