Yesterday the "entire Korean nation" (according to the North Korean/Choseon CentralTV) celebrated the 68th birthday of Kim Jong-il (aka "The Dear Leader", "The Brilliant General", "The Sun of the 21st Century" etc. etc...)

 

In celebration of this "epochal event" Kim Myeong-cheol(*) wrote: "As 2012 approaches, the supreme leader of the DPRK, Kim Jong-il, has established himself as the most peerless national hero in Korea's 5,000-year history - a 'super' Kim Il-sung", in his article "Pyongyang hails 'iron-willed' Kim Jong-il" (MUST READ!!) for today's Asia Times(HK).

Although that piece reads like complete trash, I'm sure that the author means business!!

* Kim Myeong-cheol is author of a number of books and papers in Korean, Japanese and English on North Korea, including "Kim Jong-il's Strategy for Reunification". He has a PhD from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's Academy of Social Sciences and is often called an "unofficial" spokesman of Kim Jong-il and North Korea, according to A. Times.
