Yesterday's Hankyoreh reported the following: "...evidence has emerged that the National Intelligence Service (NIS) under former director Won Sei-hoon attempted to strip the Korean Teachers and Education Workers Union (KTU) of its official status and to force labor unions to leave the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU)..."(the full article you can read here)

Well, it seems that the PGH-admistration(i.e. the current S. Korean gov't) is ready for a direct face-off against the entire left-leaning opposition, or any resistance movement...
Today's Korea Times(KT) reported a bit more detailed about the same issue:
The Ministry of Justice said Wednesday it will push for a revision to the National Security Law to give the Supreme Court the power to disband organizations deemed to be "anti-state".... the ministry said an early passage of the revision bill is necessary to restrict the activities of anti-state groups or those who benefit the enemy, namely North Korea... the National Security Law revision also seeks to ban rallies and other activities held by these organizations... the authorities will also take a stern attitude toward illegal demonstrations or strikes...(here you can read the complete KT report)
Indeed it sounds like a declaration of war against the entire progressive civil society/movement in S. Korea!!
But on the other side... Possibly it's just PGH's latest effort/newest idea to promote her N-S Unification Project - aka "The Jackpot" - by reducing the gap of the different social systems in N. &S. Korea?! 1st step: S. Korea's residual democracy will be aglined with the N. Korean "jurisdiction"...
But... who knows?

Today's Hankyoreh reported the following: A crowd of 100 people staged an “eating protest” in front of grieving family members of Sewol ferry sinking victims on Sept. 6.
