About one month ago: The Federation of Korean Trade Unions(FKTU) vowed to fight alongside KCTU against the plans of the S. Korean gov't's to "reform"(deregulate!!) the labor market...
And today in the late afternoon(KST) - surprise, surprise(^^) - the S. Korean news agency Yonhap reported: "FKTU OKs trilateral deal on labor reform", despite massive opposition even in its own leadership ranks(*), let alone the ongoing resistance in FKTU's affiliated unions such as metal, chemical and public workers...
Some 100 union members rallied in protest at the umbrella union’s “compromise” with the government, holding up placards that read “We can never approve the agreement that enslaves 20 million laborers!"(K. Herald, 9.14)
* "Senior unionized worker tries to set himself on fire"(Yonhap, 9.14)...
Yesterday(9.12) morning: Hundreds of labor activists from all over S. Korea joined the latest "Bus of Hope Campaign" and traveled to the southern port city of Busan... The activists spent there two days (incl. one night) to express their solidarity with the ongoing struggle of "irregular" workers in Busan. The activists took the streets of Busan for massive protest rallies, but they also occupied the area in front of Busan's city hall to celebrate a colour/powerful Solidarity Struggle Culture Festival...

...and today!
Yonhap News Agency is South Korea's largest news agency, according to Wikipedia. "With state-of-the-art equipment and a superior workforce... [We are]KOREA'S leader in news service"(Yonhap about Yonhap)...
Yesterday's Yonhap reported the following: "A popular all-female music band in North Korea has disappeared from the North's broadcasts since mid-July, spawning speculation over a possible breakup of the group created three years ago... Radio Free Asia (RFA) said last month that the Moranbong Band has been replaced by the Chongbong Band as the former's members got married or some of them were deported from the country."
And today(i.e. only one day later) - surprise, surprise - the same news agency("KOREA'S leader in news service"^^) reported: "KCNA... said that Kim[Jong-un] and the Cuban delegation have watched an art performance by the Moranbong Band..."
Well, dear Yonhap, a comment is superfluous!
But, after all... There's a crucial question, related to the quotation: "Moranbong Band... [some of]former's members... were deported from the country"
They're deported(from the country)... whereto? To Disneyland(as tourist attraction, to earn some more hard currency for KJU)? To a cathouse in Japan(as sex slaves, to earn some more hard currency for KJU)? To the "Islamic State", currently located in Iraq and Syria, to be executed without any trace to KJU? To South Korea... ??
Questions upon questions...(^^)
Last Saturday(9.05) afternoon(until late night) in Gumi(North Gyeongsang Province): The "Yeondae Hanmadang(Garden of Solidarity) Festival", organized and joined by hundreds of KCTU activists, took place to support the struggle of 170 dismissed workers of Asahi Glass Fine Techno Korea. They were fired after they founded a labor union in the factory. Last Saturday was the 100th day of their struggle for reemployment and the recognition of the union by the management. Here just some impressions, photographed by Yoo Yeong-min, depicting the event(detailed reports in Korean you can read here and here!)...
