마이클 무어 지지한 린다 론스타드, “라엘리안 ‘명예 사제’ 됐다”

린다 론스타드((Linda Ronstadt /세계적인 여성 팝가수)는

최근 미국 라스베가스 알라딘 호텔에서 있었던 그녀의 공연에서

마이클 무어(부시 대통령을 비난한 화제의 영화 ‘화씨 9/11’을

제작한 영화감독)를 위한 "정치적으로 올바르지 않은" 헌사를 발표했다.

이에 라엘리안 무브먼트의 정신적 지도자인 라엘 성하

(His Holiness Rael)는 그녀를 라엘리안 무브먼트의 명예 사제

("가이드"라고도 호칭함)로 임명하였다.

이 직함은 마돈나, 시네드 오코너, 조지 마이클, 마이클 무어,

램시 클라크같은 소수의 선택된 저명인사들에게 수여된 바 있다.

미국 라엘리안 무브먼트의 대표 리키 리 로어는 다음과 같이 언급했다:

"이러한 사람들이 진실을 향해 사회를 일깨우고 있다. 알려진 바와 같이,

단 25%의 청중만이 론스타드의 공연 중 자리를 떠났다. 이것은 75%의

사람들은 그녀에게 동의하거나 그녀의 말에 공감했다는 것을 의미한다.

만일 그녀가 "신이여, 미국에 은총을 베푸소서"라고 이야기했다면

알라딘 호텔이 그녀와의 계약을 취소했을 것이라 생각하는가?

테러리즘과의 전쟁은 없다. 그런 것은 결코 없었다. 어떠한 대량살상

무기도 없었으며 이는 부시가 거짓말을 했거나 혹은 자신이 무슨 짓을

하는지 인식하지 못했다는 것을 의미한다.

더구나 부시는 자신이 기독교도라고 주장하면서도 "원수를 사랑하라",

"한 쪽 뺨을 맞으면 다른쪽 뺨도 내밀어라".(심지어 이라크는 결코 미국을

공격한 적 조차 없었다!) 라는 예수의 가장 유명한 가르침을 망각했다.

이 명예직이 수여된 저명인사들은 "우리를 보호하기 위해서"라고

주장하는 자들의 거짓말과 그들의 위선 및 폭력의 광기를 지적한 사람들이다.

폭력은 결코 해결책이 될 수 없다.

무능한 부시 행정부가 UN을 무시하고 군대를 보내 "테러리스트들"의

수보다도 더 많은 민간인을 학살한 덕분에 이제 과거 어느때보다 더 많은

"테러리스트들"이 생겼다.

부시 행정부는 팔레스타인인들의 권리를 묵살하는 이스라엘을 일방적으로

지지함으로써 상황을 악화시켜왔다. 혹은 이것은 그들의 후원자들이 막대한

돈을 벌게 해주는 기록적인 군비지출을 정당화시키기 위해 그들이

원하고 있는 것일지도 모른다.

Linda Ronstadt named "Honorary Priest" for supporting Michael Moore

Press release, Las Vegas, July 22nd, 2004 - After her politically

incorrect dedication to Michael Moore in her show at the Aladdin Hotel

in Las Vegas, His Holiness Rael has named Linda Ronstadt an honorary

Priest (also called "Guide") of the Raelian Religion . This title has

been bestowed on a select few public figures - namely Madonna, Sinead

O`Connor, George Michael, Michael Moore and Ramsey Clark.

Ricky Lee Roehr, head of the US Raelian Movement comments: "People like

these wake up society to the truth. If you notice, only 25% of the

audience walked out of Ms. Ronstadt`s show. This means 75% either agreed

with her or sympathizes with her comment! Do we think that the Aladdin

hotel would cancel her contract if she would have said "God bless

America" ? There is no war on terrorism. There never was. There were

never any weapons of mass destruction and this means Bush either lied or

doesn't know what he's doing. Additionally, Bush claims to be a

Christian yet forgets the most famous words of Jesus "love your enemy"

and "if your enemy strikes you, offer the other cheek" (though Iraq

never even attacked the US!).

The public figures given this honorary title are those who point out the

lies of those claiming to "protect us", their hypocrisies and insane

fascination with violence. Violence is never a solution. There are

actually more ``terrorists`` than ever thanks to the incompetencies of

the Bush administration ignoring the U.N. and sending in the military

which killed many more civilians than "terrorists". By giving one-sided

support to Israel which neglects the rights of the Palestinians, the

Bush administration has worsened the situation. Or maybe this is what

they really want in order to justify record spending on the military

which makes their friends a lot of money.
