UPS workers in S. Korea were newly organised this year. The KPTU UPS Korea Branch has been trying for several months to reach a recognition agreement (basic agreement on recognition of the branch, guarantee of time off for negotiators and rules for collective bargaining) and move forward with collective bargaining, but management is avoiding real negotiations (surface bargaining) and engaging in unfair labour practices.
