Last Saturday(3.18) in the early afternoon(KST): About 5000 activists from all across S. Korea arrived by "Peace Buses" in Seongju, a small town in Gyeongbuk-do(province) to protest the planned THAAD deployment in Seongju's vicinity.
Later, after the opening rally in front of Seongju Town Hall, the protesters, incl. hundreds of KCTU(KTU, KMWU, KHMU..) members, started the "Peace March"...
...which ended after 7 km in the tiny Soseong-ri(village) where the final struggle rally/culture festival took place(here you can watch a report by FACT TV)...

불법적인 사드 배치 원천무효, 사드를 배치하려는 모든 행위를 즉각 중단하라!
- 원불교 성직자 성주 롯데골프장 입구 철야 연좌농성을 지지한다 -
성주가, 평화의 땅이 불법과 폭력으로 짓밟히고 있다.
한미당국이 사드를 이 땅에 배치하려는 것은 법적 근거도 없이 추진되는 것으로 원천무효다. 사드배치와 관련된 정부의 행위는 처음부터 끝까지 불법, 편법이며 불의다.
박근혜가 저지른 외교안보 최고 적폐는 바로 사드 배치다. 비록 박근혜는 탄핵되었지만 그 공범들은 지금 헌법마저 위반하며, 사드 배치를 강행하고 있다.
11일부터 성주 롯데골프장 앞 진밭교에서 원불교 교무(성직자)들은 평화를 짓밟는 경찰, 군인들에 맞서 원불교 성지순례 길을 열어줄 것을 요구하며 철야 연좌농성에 들어갔다.
원불교는 ‘평화의 성자’로 불리는 정산종사가 태어나 성지로 지켜오던 성주 땅에 전쟁무기 사드는 결코 들여와서는 안 된다는 요구와 정산종사가 걷던 평화의 구도 길을 막아 나선 불의에 맞선 것이다. 성주 군민 역시 사드반대를 위해 243일, 김천은 204일 동안 단 하루도 멈추지 않고 평화의 촛불을 들었다.
사드로 북핵 미사일을 막을 수 없다는 것은 이제 온 국민이 다 알고 있다.
안보를 강요하며 배치하겠다는 사드 때문에 중국은 전방위적인 경제보복에 나섰고, 나아가 중국과 러시아는 군사적 보복까지 천명하고 있다.
이처럼 안보를 지키기는커녕 평화를 근본적으로 위협할 뿐만 아니라 미국과 일본을 지켜주기 위해 우리 안보와 평화가 위협받고 국가 주권까지 무너뜨리는 사드 배치는 즉각 중단되어야 한다.
이미 우리는 사드 배치 결정 자체가 한미 간 법적 근거도 없이 도입되는 불법으로, 원천무효로 철회되어야 함은 여러 차례 밝혀왔다.
그럼에도 정부는 주민 동의는 물론 국회의 동의조차 생략하고 약속한 환경영향평가 등 모든 법적 절차를 생략한 채 롯데 골프장에 철조망부터 치기 시작했다.
이는 조기 대선에 돌입한 상황에서 누가 집권하던지 되돌리기 어렵게 만들겠다는 속셈으로 이른바 ‘사드 알박기’로 표현되고 있다.
160여명의 어르신들이 사는 성주 소성리 마을은 이제 군인이 총을 들고 경계를 서고, 경찰이 사람을 통제하고 있다. 롯데와 부지 교환이 체결되었다고 하지만 아직 성주골프장은 롯데가 소유하고 있다.
경찰과 군이 이렇게 무법적으로 땅을 점거하고, 주민을 겁박하는 것을 용서할 수도 용납되어서도 안된다.
‘평화’는 모든 종교의 중심임을 2013년 제9차 세계종교인평화회의 총회에서 밝혔다.
또한 대한민국 헌법은 종교의 자유를 보장하고 있다. 특히 평화를 가장 중요한 교리로 하는 원불교는 평화의 성지가 짓밟히는 작금의 불법과 불의에 맞서 몸을 던져 전쟁무기 사드를 막고 평화를 지키려는 행동은 의로운 행동이다.
사드 원천무효, 철회를 결의한 민주노총은 원불교의 투쟁을 적극 지지하며, 철야 연좌기도로 평화의 성지, 별고을 평화의 성주, 사드를 막고 평화를 바라는 원불교 투쟁에 경의를 표한다.
민주노총은 사드 반대 투쟁이 성주, 김천, 원불교만의 투쟁으로 두지 않을 것을 결의했다. 오는 3월 18일 ‘평화버스’로 소성리를 지키는 투쟁에 나설 것이며 이후에도 사드 원천무효와 배치를 저지하기 위한 투쟁을 노동자는 물론 농민과 이 땅의 평화를 원하는 세력들과 힘을 합쳐 함께 투쟁해나갈 것이다. 사드를 막아낼 것이다.
