LabourStart just launched a new online campaign at the request of several global union bodies, and the only way this campaign is going to have any effect is if we get thousands of trade union activists from every country to sign up...
Education International, representing teachers unions around the world, together with Public Services International, the International Trade Union Confederation and three S. Korean unions have called for a massive global online campaign of protest.
This is very urgent -- if we don't act, the Korean teachers will no longer have a legal trade union by October 23.

Yesterday afternoon, just after the end of the "50 Hours Solidarity Hunger Strike", 12 dismissed Ssangyong workers announced the cessation of their collective hunger strike - which took place for the past 21 days in front of Daehanmun, the main gate of Deoksu-gung(palace) in central Seoul - concerning increasing health problems.
