"GANGJEONG GRAND PEACE MARCH"
Since y'day "two groups of activists are walking the circumference of Jeju Island over six days. They will meet on August 4 in Jeju City’s Tapdong Square to hold a demonstration calling for the cancellation of a naval base in Gangjeong Village" (Hankyoreh, 7.31)

300 so-called "employees" (i.e. hired thugs/organized gangsters) of the "security company" Contactus stormed the SJM plant at the Banwol Industrial Complex in Ansan’s Danwon district early Friday(7.27) morning. The so-called "security workers" reportedly threw sharp iron parts and fire extinguishers from the plant and used clubs against around 150 workers who were holding a sit-in protest there. At least eleven workers suffered fractures and other serious injuries. A total of 34 were hurt, with some hospitalized...

OCCUPY HYUNDAI!!
Under that motto approx. 2000 workers and (progressive) activists gathered last Saturday(7.21), after a powerful demonstration, in front of Hyundai Motors' in Ulsan (a south-eastern industrial city in S. Korea) for almost 24 hours to demonstrate their unconditional participation/support in this years strike campaign by the Korean Metal Workers' Union(KMWU) to achieve the following goals:
-> abolishing the temporary workers system
-> rooting out unfair transactions between companies and subcontractors
-> scrapping the nighttime work system
-> improving labor conditions
