Y'day(10.1) KCTU "reported"(via facebook) the following: Today 30,000 workers, civil society activists and ordindary community members came together for a mass protest calling on the government to take responsibility for the death of farmer Baek Nam-gi and the tragic Sewol Ferry accident and stop its murderous attack on public services through the illegal imposition of profit-oriented performance-related pay in the public sector. During a solidarity speech Douniazed Zaouche of CGT General Federation of Civil Servants congratulated Korean civil society and workers for recognising their fight is one and the same and fighting together against the government's attack on democracy. She said, "Hand in hand, you, workers and the civil society are defending this precious democracy and your common wealth: the public services!"
