Y'day(2.20) afternoon(KST) in central Seoul: About 2000 activists of the Korean Metal Workers' Union(KMWU) gathered @Gwanghwamun Plaza to open the 2019 "struggle season" by calling on the Moon Jae-in gov't to:
- Stop doling out benefits to the Chaebol conglomerates and eroding labor law!
- Withdraw the Gwangju "Jobs" Project! Stop unilateral sale of DSME to HHI!
- against unilateral restructuring and for labor law reform.
During the rally KMWU also daclared its support for KCTU's next "general strike"(March 6) to win full trade union rights with the ratification(by the S. Korean gov't) of ILO core conventions through fundamental reform of the S. Korean Labor Law.(KMWU's report in Korean you'll get here)
