The following pics "decorated" Rodong Shinmun's front page/front-page article("Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, Gives Field Guidance to Pyongyang Weak-current Apparatus Factory..."/"경애하는 김정은동지께서 평양약전기계공장을 현지지도하시였다"), two days ago.
While the pics(actually, stuff like that, I've never seen before in the NK "media"!!) are leaving room for several interpretations(^^), it's obvious, that the guy with the purple tie(possibly the 'CEO' of "Pyongyang Weak-current Apparatus Factory"), is not really happy to be together with the little fat bastard(aka Kim Jong Un, "1st secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, yada yada yada~~")...

As today's "weekend reading" I would like to suggest the following (incredibly bizarre &insane)story, published in yesterday's Rodong Shinmun...

Honourable Is Life to Resolutely Defend Leader

An unexpected fire broke out at Sakju County House of Culture on the afternoon of January 17 last.

At the news many county people rushed to the spot.

The portraits of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and the main slogans of the Party were brought out in safety.

Meanwhile, the flames got fiercer.

At that time two men were seen to creep out.

They were Ko Yong Chol, officer of the propaganda department of the Sakju County Party Committee and Pak Yun Chol, security man of the Sakju County People's Security Office.

They were sent to a hospital. After a while they came to their senses and said that some people remained in the building of the House of Culture.

They told the names of 4 men and fell senseless again.

The 4 men were Choe Yong Chan and Kim Kyong Il, officers of the County Party Committee Propaganda Department, Yun Tong Ho, vice-chairman of the County Youth League Committee and Paek Kwang Hyok, security man of the County People's Security Station.

They could survive if they wanted. Why then, did they remain in the scorching flames to the end?

Ko and Pak witnessed the scene.

Having brought the portraits of Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and also the main slogans of the Party in safety out of the building on fire, Ko Yong Chol heard some dim voices.

He found vague figures of men in front of the stage over the flames.

Ko rushed to them. Pak followed him.

Fireballs were falling like hail. Ko stopped and found three men supporting a ladder and a man climbing it.

"There is still a slogan!", shouted the three men all together.

Ko and Pak joined them immediately.

Fireballs were falling from the ceiling continuously and the smoke was suffocating them. But they desperately took down the slogan.

In ordinary times 6 men would not have dared to take down the large and heavy slogan. But they took it down with superhuman power. Just that moment the ceiling fell down on their heads.

Choe Yong Chan, Kim Kyong Il, Yun Tong Ho and Paek Kwang Hyok could not even leave their corpses whole.

They were in their thirties. They had parents, wives and children.

They met their fate in a moment. But the moment tells of their worthwhile life and beautiful future.

[2.25]'국민(총)파압' (#3)

According to Wikipedia "A general strike (or mass strike) is a strike action in which a substantial proportion of the total labour force in a city, region, or country participates. General strikes are characterized by the participation of workers in a multitude of workplaces, and tend to involve entire communities..."

So, to cut a long story short, KCTU's "General Strike"(aka "National People's Strike") wasn't a general strike and above all not a "people's strike"[for more detailed info, especially the - more or less - poor 'performances' in the various provinces/cities, please check out the latest (Korean)reports on LabourStart(2.25/26)]!!

And finally(no comment^^)...
