Two days ago(4.02) KCTU launched a campaign in a bid to prevent the new planned "labor reform". Since that day KCTU activists are occupying the area in front of the Nat'l Assembly(S. Korea's parliament building in Seoul) to protest the planned labor law revision. And it seems that the situation there is increasingly escalating. Here're just some impressions from yesterday's protest, resp. the confrontation between KCTU members and the riot cops(more pics you'll get here)...

Today in the afternoon(KST), Korean Confederation of Trade Unions(KCTU) activists launched a campaign to enter the National Assembly in a bid to prevent the new planned "labor reform". They posted a large banner on the outer wall of the National Assembly building, which read, "Stop the labor reform, win basic labor rights."

Later on eight KCTU activists, who attempted to occupy the main building of the National Assembly, were arrested...

In the meantime other activists continued their sit-in in front of the main building...

...after they were blocked by security personnel and cops while attempting to enter the main building by surprise. (source: KPTU, 4.02)

...urging the government to adopt key conventions of the International Labor Organization in continuation of its efforts to allow temporary and dismissed workers to join labor unions.
