Last Tuesday(11.24) in Seoul's Yeouido: KCTU held a press conference to denounce the authorities' retrogressive revision of labor law and oppressive rule. Speakers criticized the authorities' dictatorial acts of wantonly abusing the people's right to existence and human rights by brutally suppressing the participants in rallies/demos and unilaterally carrying out the retrogressive revision of labor law. Choe Jeong-jin, KCTU's vice-chairman, accused the "Saenuri Party" of going to unilaterally railroad the bill on retrogressive revision of labor law through the "National Assembly". He called for staging the second "All-out People's Action"day on December 5 to prevent the retrogressive revision of labor law and force the PGH administration to step down...

From then on the S. Korean 'authorities' are trying to escalete the situation...

11.24: Han Sang-gyun, the head of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) - now since almost two weeks hiding in the Jogye Buddhist Temple in central Seoul - met Ven. Dobeop and asked the monk to mediate with the government concerning issues such as the peaceful hosting of a second rally and help establish a dialogue between the gov't and labor representatives... The reply by the "authorities": We're not interrested (in any dialog with KCTU)! 

11.25: Police consider banning second massive rally

11.26: S. Korea's "justice" minister warns against (further)protests...

11.27: Police raided a local branch of an umbrella labor union(KCTU/Gyeongi-do) as part of their ongoing probe into a "violent" anti-government rally...

11.28: Police say will not allow farmers to hold rally(planned for 12.5)...

11.29: Korean Peasants League: "Police are not in a position to determine whether we can hold a rally or not," said a staffer from the association. "Under the current law, we are supposed to tell them just when and where our rally will be held. We don't need their approval"...
