About two weeks ago The New York Times wrote in its editorial the following: South Koreans can be as proud of their country’s emergence from dictatorship into a vibrant democracy as they are of the rags-to-riches development that made their country a global industrial powerhouse. So it is alarming that President Park Geun-hye appears intent on backtracking on the democratic freedoms that have made South Korea as different from North Korea’s puppet regime as day is from night...
And it seems that the "authorities" in Seoul are trying to do their "best" to prove S. Korea's retrocession! Here just some of the latest examples...
☞ Business owner hangs critical poster, gets visits from cops (Hankyoreh, 11.30)
☞ Make the VIP Uncomfortable, Be the First to Be Censored (KHSM, 11.30)
☞ No masked terrorists (Korea Times, 11.27)
Many of the questions President Park Geun-hye and US President Barack Obama fielded in their post-summit joint press conference on Oct. 16 had to do with the South Korea-US alliance and Seoul’s relations with Beijing. “President Park, you recently appeared in Beijing with the leaders of Russia and China. What message were you trying to send to the US with that appearance?” asked one reporter. “[T]here are some people who are concerned that there are some cracks [in the South Korea-US alliance]. What do you see?” another asked Obama... The questions and remarks are evidence of just how strongly observers in the US believe that Seoul may be becoming too friendly with China... (source: Hankyoreh, 10.20)
"Questions and remarks" by "observers in the US"... WHO CARES?? S. Korea is not a colony(according to the N. Korean propaganda) of the USA!! It's a country, recogniced by the UN as an independent state...
And - interestingly - S. Korea's bourgeois(incl. the conservative/reactionary) media is publishing pieces in favour of China(aka中華人民共和國):
☞ Zhou Enlai... like-minded comrade of Korean patriots (K. Herald, 10.12)
☞ Gadgets from China gain trust and profits in Korea (JoongAng Ilbo, 10.12)
☞ Innovation is key to the success of Chinese firms (JoongAng Ilbo, 10.12)
☞ 'Xi has greater foreign policy clout than predecessors’ (K. Herald, 10.13)
☞ ‘China seeks social governance through NGO partnership’ (K. Herald, 10.20)
Today's Korea Times reported the following:
South Korea will propose tougher sanctions against North Korea at the United Nations if Pyongyang makes military provocations next month, Cheong Wa Dae officials said Wednesday.
"President Park Geun-hye plans to send a warning to North Korea about possible provocations and call for international support in her U.N. speech on Sept. 28," an official said, declining to be named.
Park is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech at the 70th U.N. General Assembly in New York during her visit there from Sept. 25 to 28...
She is expected to ask the U.N. Security Council (UNSC) to add general goods on the list of items that are prohibited for export to North Korea, according to Cheong Wa Dae officials...

Yonhap News Agency is South Korea's largest news agency, according to Wikipedia. "With state-of-the-art equipment and a superior workforce... [We are]KOREA'S leader in news service"(Yonhap about Yonhap)...
Yesterday's Yonhap reported the following: "A popular all-female music band in North Korea has disappeared from the North's broadcasts since mid-July, spawning speculation over a possible breakup of the group created three years ago... Radio Free Asia (RFA) said last month that the Moranbong Band has been replaced by the Chongbong Band as the former's members got married or some of them were deported from the country."
And today(i.e. only one day later) - surprise, surprise - the same news agency("KOREA'S leader in news service"^^) reported: "KCNA... said that Kim[Jong-un] and the Cuban delegation have watched an art performance by the Moranbong Band..."
Well, dear Yonhap, a comment is superfluous!
But, after all... There's a crucial question, related to the quotation: "Moranbong Band... [some of]former's members... were deported from the country"
They're deported(from the country)... whereto? To Disneyland(as tourist attraction, to earn some more hard currency for KJU)? To a cathouse in Japan(as sex slaves, to earn some more hard currency for KJU)? To the "Islamic State", currently located in Iraq and Syria, to be executed without any trace to KJU? To South Korea... ??
Questions upon questions...(^^)
Today's Korea Times reported the following: "A local court granted a request from the organizers of the Korea Queer Festival and ordered police to withdraw their order banning the groups' parade scheduled for June 28 in downtown Seoul..."(more detailed info you'll get here and here).
