Yesterday's Yonhap("Today's photos") reported the following: "Unionized construction workers march through Gwanghwamun Street in downtown Seoul in the morning of June 21, 2017, causing a heavy traffic jam during rush hour. They called for the government to present measures to root out illegal subcontracts and maintain employment stability"
Sounds good! Well, just a part of the ordinary daily class struggle in S. Korea... But - possibly - it wasn't just an ordinary struggle rally(organized by KFCITU/KCTU)...

Today's Korea Herald reported that South Korea’s Supreme Court confirmed a three-year jail sentence for Han Sang-gyun, the leader of the nation’s second-biggest umbrella labor union, for "leading violent rallies". Labor groups denounced the ruling as a regression of democracy. Han, head of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, was convicted on charges of leading a series of illegal rallies at the end of 2015 and causing damage to public property and police officers...(more you can read here, today's Yonhap News report you'll get here)

Today's Global Times(環球時報, 中國) reported the following: South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Tuesday ordered a thorough investigation into the unauthorized delivery of four more mobile launchers of the US missile shield to the country. Yoon Young-chan, chief presidential press secretary, told a press briefing that President Moon said it was "very shocking" after he was briefed on the unauthorized transportation. Top presidential security advisor Chung Eui-yong reported to Moon that four more THAAD mobile launchers were secretly transported to South Korea in addition to two launchers already installed. Moon ordered the security advisor and the senior presidential secretary for civil affairs to thoroughly look into the secret delivery...(more you can read here)

The Constitutional Court will deliver its ruling on the impeachment of President Park Geun-hye at 11 a.m.(KST) Friday. Bae Bo-yoon, a spokesman for the court, announced the date after the eight justices spent two-and-a-half hours in behind closed door deliberations, which started at 3 p.m. Wednesday. "The ruling will be broadcast live," Bae said. If six or more of the justices vote in favor of impeachment, the President will be immediately removed from her post. In that case, with her presidential immunity from prosecution gone, she will no longer be able to dodge the investigation into her alleged crimes, including bribery that could put her behind prison for life...(source: K.
