Next Thursday the "G20" economic summit will take place in London/UK and already yesterday likely more than 100,000 people took the streets of London(*), Frankfurt, Berlin and some other European cities to protest against the "event" in prticular and the capitalism in general. Following just some impressions from Berlin, where at least 25,000 people (the organizers expected "only" 10,000) joined the demonstration, following the main motto "We Won't Pay For Your Crisis!":

While today the people in S.K. remember the 90th anniversary of the establishment of its democracy movement, i.e. the "3.1 Movement for Independence (from the Japanese colonial rule) and Democracy", already yesterday - once again - the S.K. gov't demonstrated its understanding of "democracy"! (*)

* Yesterday afternoon, a short while after the "Nat'l Workers Rally" (approx. 30,000 KCTU members participated) in Seoul/Yeouido, the activists (approx. 10,000) who wanted to join the "6th Rally to Commemorate the Victims of the Yongsan Massacre" in downtown Seoul were attacked for the first time by large units of the riot cops.
Later, between the early evening and midnight, at least 10,000 riot cops were deployed in downtown Seoul to prevent any movement of the Yongsan-demo.
And several violent clashes beween them and thousands of demonstrators took place near Namdaemun, in Myeong-dong, on Taepyeong-no etc... (well, finally the cops failed to prevent street protests!!).

Y'day the "5th rally to mourn the victims of the Yongsan Massacre" took place in downtown Seoul. Unfortunately only a very, very small number (max. 150) of activists/citizens joined the "event"..
But, despite the extreme small number of protesters, thousands of riot cops were deployed in downtown Seoul to oppress any "violent public disorder" (^^)...

Japan: New poster warns about "illegal" immigrants/migrant workers:
The text on the poster can be translated as:
>STOP THEM AT THE SHORES, PROTECT [OUR COUNTRY].
>PLEASE COOPERATE IN STOPPING ILLEGAL ALIENS AND THEIR ILLEGAL ENTRY.

The poster is very similar to an earlier poster issued already last year by the Ibaraki police, only this time the officers wearing riot gear now seem to require submachine guns to subdue "illegal immigrants".

The S.K. immigration (or better said DEPORTATION!!) "authorities" have a lot more to learn.. from Korea's former colonial power!! (^^)
Since almost ten days solidarity groups and MTU activists in the south of Gyeonggi-do(Province) are touring around with a solidarity campaign to support the struggle of migrant workers in the region - like here last week in Pyeongtaek:
