1.22 Workers' Protest Day in the west German city Bochum
Unfortunately (some of) the demonstrators had not realized that there
may be a difference between the Finnish mobile phone maker (Nokia)
and the South Korean car maker (KIA)..^^
The background:
Two weeks ago Nokia announced plans to discontinue the production of mobile devices in Germany and close its Bochum site by mid-2008. About 2,300 workers will be dismissed. The complete production of mobile phones will be settled soon in Cluj/Romania, were the monthly wages will be only a tenth of the salaries, Nokia had to pay in Germany.

Yesterday (11.04) Russia celebrated the obscure (national holiday) "Day of National Unity". In Moscow thousands of demonstrators demanded in two separate rallies - one was more fascist and racist, and the other more fascist and pro-imperialist (incl. the "National Bolshevist Party") - "Russia Only For White Russians", "Foreigners/Migrants Out!!", "Death to the Yellow Danger" (i.e. the influence of the Chinese, Koreans.. in the East..), a "Unified Struggle Against the (so-called western) Democracy" and the "Re-establishment of the Russian Empire", etc..
Well, here some few impressions from y'day's (f..) demonstrations in Moscow:

France: The Night After the Election
Yesterday around 53 per cent of the voters elected Sarkozy as the next president of the republic. But it seems that - surprise, surprise (^^) - not everyone was/is happy with the result..
Like in Paris, where thousands of mainly young people took the streets, also in other French cities such as Lyon, Tolouse, Marseille etc. large untits of the riot cops were contfronted with angry protestors.
