Y'day afternoon in central Seoul: Around 4,000 people participated in the first anti-U.S. rally under Moon's presidency. It was also the largest protest since South Korea and the United States agreed to deploy the system, known as the Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD)...
Protesters marched with placards that read: "Trump, stop forcing (South Korea) to deploy THAAD" and "No THAAD, No Trump." Last week(6.17) an opinion piece(here you can read the full text) published by Asia Times asked "South Korea delays THAAD deployment – what next?" concluted with the following: The United States should consider South Korea’s decision to delay THAAD as an opportunity to withdraw from the peninsula. The cold war is long over, and Washington’s ability to contain the DPRK has failed. Allowing China to take a greater leadership role may not be such a bad thing(!!)

Today's Yonhap News reported that South Korea's presidential office Cheong Wa Dae said (...) the ongoing deployment of the U.S. THAAD missile defense system here should be suspended at least for now, pending a full-blown environmental impact assessment...

Last Sat.(6.03) morning in central Seoul, in front of Cheongwadae(the presidential office): Children and their mothers living in Gimcheon, only 7 km away from the THAAD radar and launchers in Soseong-ri(Seongju-gun, Gyeongbuk-do) came to Seoul and delivered their messages to the President Moon Jae-in with letters and drawings...
