Kim Jong Un is now being called ‘Supreme Representative of All the Korean People’...(source: Reuters, 4.12)
A political bombshell was dropped [on April 11, 2019, the first session of the 14th Supreme People’s Assembly, NK's so-called parliament] in the first speech of the newly promoted Choe Ryong Hae, in which he declared that Kim Jong Un, by being the chairman of the State Affairs Commission, also is “the supreme representative of all the Korean people”. The actual goals and attitude notwithstanding, North Korea has so far been relatively careful to avoid open claims to leadership over all of the Korean Peninsula. While Article 1 of the Constitution says that the DPRK represents “the interests of all the Korean people,” Article 9 adds that the complete victory of socialism is to be achieved “in the northern half of Korea” only. The new title is thus a certain break with the past and openly challenges the role of South Korea and its president.
The claim to be the leader of all Koreans does, in fact, correspond with the major long-term strategic goal of Kim Jong Un to achieve a unification of the Korean Peninsula under his leadership. However, it is unclear why he decided to make this so explicit now, and why he has chosen to create such a huge challenge to ROK President Moon Jae-in despite the current status of the bilateral relationship between the DPRK and the US after the Hanoi Summit. It seems that despite the abrupt end of the summit, Kim Jong Un feels very confident that he does not need Moon’s help as a mediator anymore(*)...(source: 38 North, 4.13)

The distinguished position and role of the leader lie in the fact that the leader personifies the interests of the popular masses to the maximum and organizes and guides their independent and creative struggle.
The leader leads the people to victory and glory.
The people should be united with one idea in one organization to be the independent driving force that carves out their destiny by themselves. Only the leader can accomplish the cause of arming the popular masses with independent revolutionary idea and rallying them around revolutionary organization.
The leader makes the working masses the owner of the state power and the means of production and leads them to exercise all sovereign rights, take part in state management with the attitude of the master and reject and frustrate all pressure, arbitrary practices and moves of aggression by foreign forces at every step, thus letting them enjoy the dignified life as independent people.
The leader is the great servant of the people who devotes his all to their happiness, sharing life and death with them all his life.
The supreme models of the popular leader are President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il who remain long in the world history of socialist movement. Their lives are the sacred revolutionary histories of people’s leaders who devoted themselves to the country and people till the last moments of their lives as leaders, revolutionaries and human beings, going through unimaginable hardships and trials.
Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un is creditably carrying forward the history of the ardent love of the great leaders for the people, the history of most fervent and sacrificial devotion for the people.

Today's DailyNK reported the following: Serious problems appear to be impacting North Korea’s food supplies in South Pyongan Province given that even members of the government – usually the first to receive food rations – have been unable to receive them, causing many government officials to stop working altogether. “Officials working for provincial party committees and offices in the cities and counties, along with those working in police and prosecutor’s offices, have been unable to receive regular food rations. This has led to a situation where less than 70% of government officials are actually coming to work – the first time this has ever happened,” said a South Pyongan Province-based source...(the complete report you'll get here)
PS. IMO it seems - if the report really reflects the current reality(??) - that South Pyongan Province(평안남도) is currently the best place(in N. Korea) to start an uprising(according to comrade Mao Zedong: "Resistance is justified!!")...

According to the result of vote count, 99.99 percent of all the electors registered on the voter rolls across the country attended the election and 100 percent of them cast their ballots for the candidates for deputies to the SPA registered in relevant constituencies...

[3.01.2019] DECLARATION FOR A FREE JOSEON(*)
One hundred years ago on this day, our ancestors spoke into being a Korea independent and free, calling on their compatriots to rise and overthrow a system of wanton oppression and intolerable indignities. Risking their lives, they heralded a new era of enlightenment: one in which women and men were endowed with certain unalienable Rights, and a fair and just nation would protect and provide for the welfare and happiness of all Koreans, in harmony with the Peninsula’s neighbors.
This great task remains unfinished. On this very day tens of millions of our fellow Koreans remain enslaved by a depraved power, ruled by a corrupt few made wealthy by the toils of many, building its capacity for unimaginable destruction, presenting a smile and an open hand to the willfully blind who surmise that, with only the right words and tribute, such entrenched totalitarianism might be charmed into surrender.
We the People of Joseon, indict this immoral and illegitimate regime:
For the devastating starvation of millions, despite the ability to feed them;
For government-sponsored murder, torture, and imprisonment;
For overwhelming surveillance and thought-control;
For systemic rape, enslavement, and forced abortions;
For political assassinations and acts of terror around the world;
For the forced labor and stifled potential of our children;
For the enforced poverty of body, mind, and opportunity;
For the development and distribution of modern weapons of great destruction, shared and sold to others who would also use them towards cruel ends;
For even still a great many compounding iniquities.
For decades we hoped for rescue, while our families were held hostage. We watched powerful and wealthy nations ignore our pleas, and enrich and embolden our tormentors. We gazed at incredible feats of prosperity and developments to the south, hoping that with their rising strength they would remember their sisters and brothers left behind by history.
But liberation did not come.
Today, we hear the twin calls of both our ancestors and our descendants. Our spirits demand that we wait no longer. Do we not also deserve joy, dignity, education, health, and safety? We, too, claim liberty as our bounty. We hereby take into our own hands our destiny and duty.
“We have arisen now. Conscience is on our side, and truth guides our way. All of us, men and women, young and old, have firmly left behind the old nest of darkness and gloom and head for joyful resurrection together with the myriad living things. The spirits of thousands of generations of our ancestors protect us; the rising tide of world consciousness shall assist us. Once started, we shall surely succeed. With this hope we march forward.”
WE DECLARE ON THIS DAY the establishment of Free Joseon, a provisional government preparing the foundations for a future nation built upon respect for principles of human rights and humanitarianism, holding sacred a manifest dignity for every woman, man, and child.
We declare this entity the sole legitimate representative of the Korean people of the north.
We rise against the criminal incumbents of the north, who have perpetuated vast crimes against humanity for decades. We dedicate ourselves completely to the abolition of this great evil, a stain on the very soul of humanity.
We oppose, confront, and will defeat those who subjugate our people, until the day that light is truly restored to Pyongyang.
To our compatriots still in chains, physically or spiritually: We are coming. We will break every yoke.
To those within the system who hear this declaration: We call on you to defy your oppressors. Challenge them openly or resist them quietly. Many of you are both perpetrators and victims. We must together throw our bodies to destroy this wretched machine that has consumed us and now seeks to consume our children. Your complicity in the system was perhaps irresistible but now, and only now, is your chance to redeem your nation and name. You are absolved of all allegiance to this corrupt throne, to this absurd cult, to this extraordinary mass shackling of human ingenuity and tenacity. We will not be victims but victors.
To those of like-mind and like-spirit among our diaspora: We call upon you to join our revolution. Thousands of years of history, the sacrifices of your ancestors, and the shared heritage of tens of millions of your compatriots summon you to take your place. Each Korean born free might have been born a slave if chance had not intervened. For why might the triumphs, strengths, and talents, gifted to you by fate, or bartered for by sacrifice, be imbued in you if not for such a time as this?
To those who would continue to legitimize and empower this regime: History will remember where you stood when you were offered this choice.
To those nations who bear the scars of prior dictatorship and oppression: We ask you to stand in solidarity with us. For our freedom and yours.
And to those friends of our cause around the world: If you did not know of our sufferings before, today you do. If you did not know how you might have helped, today you know. And if you were never asked to fight with us, today we ask you to fight with us for humanity.
We will not permit still another generation of our beloved children to be born into darkness. Joseon must and shall be free. Arise! Arise, ye who refuse to be slaves!
We reject the chains of our historic unrequited grief, declare henceforth a new era in our history, and prepare the way for a New Joseon. We therefore proclaim the birth of our revolution and our intentions towards building a more just and equal society, as truest expressions of the shared affections of our people.

Supreme Leader of the Party, state and army Kim Jong Un met again with USA President Donald J. Trump at Metropole Hotel in Hanoi at 9:00 a.m. Hanoi Time and then had one-on-one talks before having extended talks with their aides attending.
The top leaders of the two countries highly appreciated at the one-on-one talks and extended talks that a remarkable progress has been made in the historic course of implementing the Singapore joint statement. They had a constructive and candid exchange of their opinions over the practical issues arising in opening up a new era of the improvement of the DPRK-U.S. relations on the basis of the progress.
At the talks they shared the common understanding that the efforts made by the two sides and proactive measures taken by them to defuse tensions and preserve peace on the Korean peninsula and completely denuclearize it were of great significance in building mutual trust and making a fundamental turn in the decades-long bilateral relations characterized by mistrust and antagonism.
The top leaders listened to each other's views on the issues to be resolved without fail at the present phase in order to carry out the joint goals specified in the Singapore joint statement, and had an in-depth discussion of the ways to do so.
They expressed the conviction that though a high barrier of antagonism and confrontation stands due to over 7 decades-long hostile relations and there exist inevitable hardships and difficulties on the road to writing a new history of the DPRK-U.S. relationship, they could create a significant advance in the DPRK-U.S. relations as desired by the peoples of the two countries if they firmly join hands to overcome hardships and difficulties with wisdom and patience.
The top leaders of the two countries appreciated that the second meeting in Hanoi offered an important occasion for deepening mutual respect and trust and putting the relations between the two countries on a new stage.
They agreed to keep in close touch with each other for the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula and the epochal development of the DPRK-U.S. relations in the future, too, and continue productive dialogues for settling the issues discussed at the Hanoi Summit.
Kim Jong Un expressed his thanks to Trump for making positive efforts for the successful meeting and talks while making a long journey and said goodbye, promising the next meeting.
