총 11개국의 20개가 넘는 국제 단체와 개인들의 항의를 조직하였습니다.
그 중 필리핀의 MAKABAYAN의 사무총장 Precy Dagooc 씨가
직접 현대차에게 보낸 항의서한 내용입니다.

We, the officers and members of MAKABAYAN, a trade union center in the Philippines defending workers rights and working for a better world, are deeply disturbed by the plight female worker who was dismissed from work after having talked about the sexual abuse she experienced while working at Hyundai Motor Company in Korea.
노동권 옹호와 더 나은 세상을 위해 활동하는 우리 필리핀 노동조합센터 마카바얀의 직원 및 회원들은, 한국의 현대자동차에서 일하면서 겪은 성폭력을 이야기 한 이후 일터에서 해고된 비참한 여성 노동자의 소식을 듣고 매우 마음이 혼란스러웠다.
We are doubly dismayed to learn that the victim has been continually harassed by company security for staging a picket as she seeks for justice.
We cannot understand why she was unfairly dismissed while her abusers are being coddled. Kumyang Logistics and Hyundai Motor Company must have a twisted way of determining what tarnishes the company as their actions gear towards victim blaming and bashing. It is as if exposing the acts of sexual harassment tarnishes the companies’ images while the acts themselves don’t.
우리는 그녀가 정의를 구하며 피켓 시위를 하는 동안 회사 경비원에 의해 지속적으로 괴롭힘을 당했다는 소식을 듣고는 두 배로 경악했다. 우리는 왜 그녀의 가해자들은 소중히 하면서 그녀는 부당하게 해고했는지 이해할 수가 없다. 금양물류와 현대자동차는 피해자를 비난하고 공격하는 방향으로 행동을 취함으로써 회사의 평판을 손상시키는 왜곡된 결정을 했다. 그러나 마치 그들 자신의 행동이 아니라 성희롱 사실을 알린 것이 회사 이미지를 손상시킨 것처럼 굴고 있다.
This is very unfortunate, especially because this is happening in such an advance and democratic country as Korea.
이는 특히 한국과 같이 발전되고 민주적인 나라에서 일어났다는 점에서 매우 불행한 일이다.
We worry for Ms. Park’s health. But we also worry that, if this remains uncorrected, many more sexual harassers will not be deterred from committing similar acts and many more women will become hapless victims.
우리는 박 씨의 건강을 염려하고 있다. 또한 우리는 더 많은 성희롱 가해자들이 비슷한 행동을 저지르고도 제지당하지 않을 것과 더 많은 여성들이 불행한 피해자가 될 것을 우려하고 있다.
In this era of neo-liberalism, when workers are fast losing their job security through the prevailing use of the contractual hiring women workers face greater risk of getting sexually abused especially by superiors. Getting laid-off and being out of jobs are threats that harassers use to make women workers submit, and later, to keep them silent. Moreover, the scheme by big companies to put-up so-called sub-contracting companies makes it easier for them to avoid the responsibility of disciplining the errant personnel.
신자유주의 시대, 여성 노동자들의 하청 고용이 일반화됨으로써 노동자들이 빠르게 노동 안정성을 잃어가면서 특히 상사에 의한 성폭력의 위험에 직면하는 일이 점점 증가하고 있다. 해고와 일터에서의 퇴출은 가해자들이 여성 노동자들을 복종시키고 더 나아가 침묵하게 만들기 위한 위협의 도구로 활용되고 있다. 게다가, 소위 하청업체로 불리는 기업들을 배치하는 대기업의 책략은 잘못된 직원에 대한 징계 책임의 회피를 더욱 용이하게 만들고 있다.
We support Ms. Park in her battle. She should be reinstated. Her harassers should be punished.
우리는 싸움에 나선 박 씨를 지지한다. 그녀는 반드시 복직되어야 한다. 그녀의 가해자들은 반드시 처벌을 받아야 한다.
Hyundai Motor Corporation should apologize for maligning the Ms. Park and put in place strict anti-sexual harassment measures in all its places of work.
현대자동차는 박 씨를 비방한 것에 대해 사과하고 모든 작업장에서 엄격한 반성폭력 조치가 취해지도록 해야 한다.
We urge the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family of the Republic of Korea to intervene and render justice to Ms. Park.
우리는 한국의 고용노동부와 여성가족부가 개입하여 박 씨에게 정의를 돌려줄 것을 요구한다.
