Shanghai, my first visit to China

Mixed time flows paralelly here

I managed to remember 'Shuzhou' and 'Lust and caution' (wasn't it Shanghai?)

5.18이었다

전혀 생각하지 못하고 있었다

이제와 돌이켜보면 머리는 말랑말랑했지만 지금 내 모습의 씨앗을 고스란히 담고 있던 신입생 때

술자리와 사람들의 홍수 속에 선명하게 남아있는 건 새터와 다 함께 보았던 '꽃잎'

전원교향곡, 독일인의 사랑 따위의 책을 읽히다 '발가락이 닮았다'를 읽게 됐을 때의 당황스러움처럼

어떻게 처리해야할지 도무지 알 수 없었던 불편감과 슬픔, 대상을 알 수 없는 분노

그리고 대학생이 되면 저런 걸 이해할 수 있게 될거라는 생각에 두근거리게 했던 '모래시계'

요즈음 주목받는 발언을 한 것 같던데, 관계없다 황석영의 '오래된 정원'과 음과 함께 본 '오래된 정원'

..같은 몇 편의 대중매체를 통해 겨우 잊지 않고 기억하다

The Waste Land

I. THE BURIAL OF THE DEAD

APRIL is the cruellest month, breeding 
Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing 
Memory and desire, stirring 
Dull roots with spring rain.

四月はこの上なく残酷な月，
死の大地からライラックを育て上げ，
追憶と欲望をかき混ぜ，春の雨で
生気のない根を奮い立たせる。

4월은 가장 잔인한 달
죽은 땅에서 라일락을 키워내고
추억과 욕정을 뒤섞고
잠든 뿌리를 봄비로 깨운다.

 
 
Winter kept us warm, covering 
Earth in forgetful snow, feeding 
A little life with dried tubers.

冬はわれわれを暖かく包み，
忘却の雪で大地を蔽い，乾からびた球根
で小さないのちを養ってくれた。

겨울은 오히려 따뜻했다.
잘 잊게 해주는 눈으로 대지를 덮고
마른 구근 (球根)으로 약간의 목숨을 대어주었다
