South Korea: Progress as promised?
In September 2008, a three-judge panel of an appellate division of a the Choonchun District Court in Korea requested that the Constitutional Court review the constitutionality of Korea’s current military service act, which has been used as a basis to penalize conscientious objectors. The appellate court’s action is particularly significant since it was recently reported that the Ministry of Defense of Korea was no longer in favor of revamping the alternative service plan for conscientious objectors. This is an about-face from what the Ministry had originally announced one year earlier.

wri 홈페이지에 올라와 있는 한국 관련 CO-updates를 보면서 이걸 다 누가 썼지 했는데 안드레아스가 한국 신문 영문본을 보면서 썼다고 한다. 구글에 자신이 입력한 키워드와 관련한 뉴스를 스크랩해서 자신의 메일로 보내주는 기능이 있는데, 난 그동안 한글 키워드 입력할 생각만 했지, 영어로 병역거부를 쳐 넣는건 생각도 못하고 있던 차라 마치 새로운 세상을 만난 듯한 느낌이었다. ㅎㅎ

어쨌든 그 덕택에 여호와의 증인쪽에서 나온 한국 리포트도 찾아내고 정말 구글은 똑똑한 것 같다.........
