Struggle News #10:
SsangYong Motors strike and occupation - what's been going on in the past week?
Media Law revision bills were passed unilaterally by the ruling Grand National Party on July 22, but public opinion does not support these revision bills. The bills deregulate the media industry to allow cross ownership between newspaper and broadcasting companies as well as cross ownership of media companies by non-media companies (such as Samsung or Hyundai, for instance).
The sit-in struggle against the federal government's Four Rivers Restoration Project continues.
Struggle News is a program of Korea Indymedia and the Media Redevelopment Action Radio project, reporting news from the Candle Light Media Center in Yongsan district, Seoul, South Korea. We report news of the struggles, social movements and resistance to oppression in South Korea and have free discussion as well. In the program you're are talking only about a solidarity rally (to support the SsangYong strike struggle) in Bratislava/Slovakia.
But there were more solidarity protests in several other countries, such as Japan(Tokyo), China(HK), USA(SF), Phillippines(Manila/Makati) etc...
